What your birthday casts

HexWave reads your birth date through the Plum Blossom method, one of the oldest ways of casting the I Ching without coins or stalks. The date's own numbers form a Birth Hexagram Triad: a Primary Hexagram for who you are, a Changing Line for the edge you are growing along, and a Resultant Hexagram for who you are becoming.

Born on the same day?

The casting uses the year as well as the month and day, so two people who share a birthday in different years carry different triads. That is why every date page here shows a full table of years: find your birth year in its row and you have your exact pattern, not a generic one for the date.

Tables use noon as their baseline. Your birth time can shift the changing line, which is why readings without a time are marked approximate.
